Siska
08/22/04
Well, Siska and Nanuk are waking up at their new home today! Cindy and Jon fell in love with them yesterday. They took them for a walk, and the fuzzies schmoozed them and got a bunch of pets and snuggles. Cindy has pledged to take them for walks every day, but Siska let her preference for running with Jon known. So hopefully both will get lots of exercise and slim down and stay healthy for a good long life.
Here's hoping everything works out really well for them all!

Tequila
08/18/04
I'm not in the office today so probably won't get your e-mail until tomorrow. I decided to stay home and make sure Tequila is comfortable here and comfortable with our other babies. We had a great first night. Brad and I introduced Tequila to each dog one at a time. It wasn't long before they were all running in circles in delight that they have a new playmate. Tequila doesn't care so much for the food the dogs eat here so Brad is picking up some gizzards and beef heart to make it a little more appealing. She also wasn't so sure about the miniature horses that live next door. She spooked with they're every movement. It was actually pretty cute. Last night we put the dogs to bed around 9:30pm but Tequila and our Gunny had other plans they were wrestling around in the bedroom. Tequila doesn't realize that the big day bed in the room is hers to sleep on. So she slept in an x-large crate with a blanket last night and did great. I think looking around at the other dogs who are so! used to "bedtime" they all lay down and pass right out. So after a few minutes Tequila did the same.
I have Teri's e-mail address and will be keeping in touch with her, sending updates on Tequila. After seeing the dogs together last night and this morning, we're not anticipating any problems.
Thanks so much for your help and I will look for your e-mail tomorrow at work.
Cudda
08/11/04
Well, nothing like waiting 2 months to reply to your note! Sorry--things have just been very crazy this summer. We adopted gigantic Cudda a little over a year ago & things are great. We bought him a little sprinkler--a metal one he can't chew up!-- & he loves it. Just stands over it w/ his legs spread wide to cool off! What a sight w/ his one floppy ear!! I have a problem with his digging, but I'm sure he'll 'outgrow' it soon! Yikes--the guy can move some dirt--then he walks around & trips in his own holes & falls down. If he were a female, I'd change his name to Grace. He's the clutziest dog I've ever seen, but a good source of entertainment. He's wonderful w/ the kids, despite his size & has become a real protector of them. Schwan Man & UPS Guy beware! Maybe one of these days, I'll get around to sending more pix to his Happy Tails page.
Thanks for checking in & thanks for all you do for the critters.
Oso
08/09/04
Here's a picture of Oso/Aku hanging out together after a grueling walk down the driveway. He's doing very well! The two of them get along great!
Both are learning how to work with the "buzz" collar (editor note: Oso is deaf, collar is only a training aid)
