Quicksilver may look different than our other malamutes because she is all white, but her personality is pure Fe-Mal. She is a quick study, and responds well to obedience training. She knows sit, down, wait and stay. She will absolutely work for food, and bonds well with our volunteers. During her walks she likes to stop along the way to sample the blackberries, and chase a mole or two. She is very inquisitive, and likes to explore everything. She is a good digger, and her intelligence combined with her ingenuity will require a solidly contained yard. She is high energy, loves to hike, run, and as soon as she has access to a ball she has dropped it at your feet for a game of fetch. She loves all people, kids included, and flips over for belly rubs. She likes to sing to you when you arrive. She tolerates other dogs on walks and on neutral territory, but can be territorial on what she deems to be her own turf. Like most malamutes, she is possessive about her toys and food. She is most likely best suited as an only dog, or possibly could be placed with a dominant male that won't put up with too much of her bossiness. She has lived with a cat in the past, but she shows considerable interest in small critters. She will be an ideal companion for someone with an active lifestyle and a true appreciation for the breed. Since meeting, Quicksilver and Nanook have taken quite a liking to each other and have asked us to mention that they would really like to go to a forever home together. They even promise not to get into too much trouble together!

Quicksilver is being fostered in Maple Valley, WA.
