At 12 weeks, Charon is an absolute sweetheart. Charon has always been a bright, outgoing little girl, often one of the first in her litter to venture anywhere or do anything. Although Charon's momma is a purebred malamute, she must take after her daddy in looks, who we are guessing is at least part black lab. Her behavior also appears to be following this pattern - she is very calm and affectionate, loving to curl up in her foster moms lap, and lacking some of the notorious difficult tendencies of other mal puppies. Charon is very gentle, she will crawl up to the foster family's 15 month old baby on her belly and give her gentle kisses or often play quietly with her, tolerating baby pets very, very well. Charon is energetic at play, but in the house is very quiet, enjoys quiet time in her crate, is well on her way to being housetrained and is not very mouthy at all compared to most puppies. She has gorgeous soft shiny black fur, with a large white spot on her chest and all of her toes are black/white spotted. Charon stayed with her momma until 6 weeks, then lived with her siblings through 12 weeks, and has been well socialized with puppies and dogs. Charon will do very well as a cherished family dog.

Approved adopters will be required to sign up for a puppy obedience training class which stresses positive reinforcement as a training method. Depending on adoptions location, WAMAL may be able to provide references for excellent instructors qualified and experienced with Arctic Dogs and their unique needs for early socialization and positive reinforcement.
