I just wanted to keep in touch regarding Cudda.
Everything is going so well--we're thrilled!  We're very glad to have him here.  He has been put to the test on several occasions & has handled the situations very well.  We've had lots of kids playing in the back yard.  He knows when they're playing WITH him & leaves them alone when they're playing amongst themselves (after he slobbers all over them).  He did tackle Dawson (our youngest) the other evening, but it was all in fun, or so Cudda thought.  Dawson was a bit peeved, but quick to recover.  Watching the kids & Cudda play in the sprinklers has been very entertaining.  There were 2 men working in the yard on Tuesday (Day #4) with big, loud pruners & leaf blowers & Cudda remained mellow.  He doesn't even bat an eye at the lawn mower.
He appears to be a bit of a watch dog, an EXTREMELY new experience from Neko, barking at the fence when anyone arrives, along with an occasional hooooowl, when Darrin leaves. 
He has taken possession of his dog house & new cedar bed & the Iams Large Breed food seems to agree with him. 
He has learned "sit" & "lay down" with the typical Malamute hesitation & attitude.  No luck on teaching  him to swallow however!  I would say I'm even getting use to his overwhelming size.
I have ID tags on order for him, so I guess that means we're ready to complete the adoption papers so I can feel like he's our own, & not 'on loan'.  I'll wait to hear from you soon.

Cudda's doing great & we just love him to pieces!  A few holes have been dug & a few things have been chewed, but that's to be expected.  He's such a good boy & so good with our boys (ages 3 & 6)!

Well, nothing like waiting 2 months to reply to your note!  Sorry--things have just been very crazy this summer.  We adopted gigantic Cudda a little over a year ago & things are great.  We bought him a little sprinkler--a metal one he can't chew up!-- & he loves it.  Just stands over it w/ his legs spread wide to cool off!  What a sight w/ his one floppy ear!!  I have a problem with his digging, but I'm sure he'll 'outgrow' it soon!  Yikes--the guy can move some dirt--then he walks around & trips in his own holes & falls down.  If he were a female, I'd change his name to Grace.  He's the clutziest dog I've ever seen, but a good source of entertainment.  He's wonderful w/ the kids, despite his size & has become a real protector of them.  Schwan Man & UPS Guy beware! Maybe one of these days, I'll get around to sending more pix to his Happy Tails page.
