Sebastian
05/03/01
Sebastian just had a 7 lb tumor removed from his side and is acting like a puppy again, and is back with his original owners. He is in excellent health and happy again. We are so relieved. Thank you for your support and advise. Your mission here with this web site is greatly appreciated by people like us.
Jade
05/03/01
Jade moved in with a wonderful owner. He is a physician and takes Jade to his office every day. She is a big hit with the patients. She is now an inside dog and sleeps with him. I have received pictures and it appears that Jade couldn't be happier. What a great successful adoption.

Just a note to let you know that Chako is officially a member of our family. He's a wonderful dog, as you said, and we already love him a lot. He's almost fully recovered from his surgery (tomorrow he gets his sutures removed) and is eating well and "talking" a lot, especially as we get ready to go on walks. He sure loves to walk around our neighborhood. We haven't allowed him to run free yet, though we know he yearns to have that freedom again. We're taking it slow with introducing him to our cat.
Thanks again for caring for him.
Brutus
04/27/01 - Update!
Brutus aka Mallie, is a terrific dog!!!! He has settled right into the household. He is a clown and keeps us all laughing. Mallie is also very bright and learns quickly. So far he has mastered: going up and down steps (5 at a time), he sits, catches, comes when called, knows his new name, walks well on the leash, and is now housebroken. He is really well behaved and has charmed us all with his delightful personality. I am so pleased with him!!!
Both friends and strangers have commented on what a strikingly handsome young man he is and I certainly agree.
Thanks for all your help and support

We took KC (the new name, not quite sure how it got chosen) out for a 5 mile hike with Mika. She does well on the leash but can't be trusted off-leash at this time. She has learned that we feed our pets well and that her home is safe. She gets lots of handling in the mornings and at night. She is now less hand-shy than last Saturday when we got her.
She's comfortable giving me heck whenever I let another dog out and not her; I didn't think mals learned to swear at such an early age. She got a new retractable 16'leash and a 6' leash, and a new name tag yesterday. She is eating well now and isn't gulping everything in sight as she did the first two days.
