Max (was Farley)
06/19/03
Good Morning!
Hope all is well with you!
Had to touch base.......looked at the WAMAL site today and it brought tears to my eyes, cannot believe the people put down the dog because they moved, it's so sad. I wish every dog could find a loving home......I would take them all if I could.....
Max (renamed from Farley) had to have surgery for cancer ...... kept Nicole informed, been trying to keep Nicole updated on Max as I know she really cared for Max......Anyway, the surgery seems to be a success but it is the type of cancer that can grow back and can be aggressive. Hopefully it's not going to grow back. Was a Huge lump on his side which the cancer does not affect any of his organs, etc and if removed does not hurt him in any way, just need to keep an eye on it to see if it grows back, again Hopefully not.
Max has some fat balls or spots but we're going to check further to be safe.....hopefully it's just fat
Max is doing excellent! He is so loving and so intelligent! He's also a lap dog! He is definitely older anywhere from 8 to 10 but that's ok we love him! He is always right by our side esp. Mark! Right from the beginning with Mark....me.....I'm the food source and extra hugs and lovins! but think mainly the food! just teasing!
Yes, he's really spoiled.....but a good spoiled! Quite the character! Took down the baby gates and he loved that! Loves to travel and loves that truck!
At night he gets his bear and goes off to bed in his bed! without us sometimes! so guess he's comfortable!
Will send you some photos of Max and Bear.....He Loves this Bear! It plays In the tree top nursery rhyme/ too cute
Hope all is well and will talk with you soon
Moab

I just wanted to tell you about Moab's first day with us. First of all, my wife and kids absolutely love him and he is totally loving all the attention. When we let him inside, he lies in the middle of the living room unless someone is cooking, then he'll sit and politely beg. When I came home today he was sound asleep on his bed you gave me, I think the bed really made him feel comfortable. Right now he's laying with the family like he's been here forever.

We are the proud parents of a gorgeous new malamute!!!! Thank you so much for being involved with "Lobo's" rescue. (that's his new name) Terry was wonderful, too...coming all the way to our house and then hanging out to see how the 2 dogs would do. It breaks my heart that this beautiful dog came that close to being put to sleep. I can't believe what we would have missed! We love him already and in just 2 days! It's amazing that someone thought he was too bouncy. I actually think he's pretty mellow...but that's probably because we walk them everyday and then he and Aleut play for hours on end. In fact, he'd probably like us to stop bugging him so he can get a little sleep in! We just got back from Lobo's first boat ride. He did great!! I had both dogs on leashes...didn't want anyone bolting overboard. Leutie is pretty used to the boat by now. Lobo just LOVED it. Stuck his head over the side in the wind...big smile on his face. We were only out for about an hour, but the last 1/2 hour both dogs laid down, yawned and took a little nap. The best of the evening was making a fire, having a glass of red wine and both dogs sleeping in the living room...it was really wonderful and cozy. THE BEST!!

I adopted Malcom today. We've actually named him Prince. I spent a little over an hour with him yesterday at the Humane Society. I took my girls back today to meet him. He lit up completely when he met them. The folks at the shelter were pleased to see he was so delighted by the kids. He is someone's lost pet, definitely. He appears to have been well trained and well cared for. He sits and lies down even to my daughters' commands. He doesn't jump at all. He's having fun exploring his new home and seems pretty relaxed. When I sat on the family room floor, he ran right over and plopped down next to me for some attention. I can't type much now; I'm heading for a walk around the yard with Prince. Thanks again for all your help! I will definitely stay in touch!
