Well, I checked the site, and you already have my input about Juneau (she's "Juniebug" to me...). I just had to write and at least tell you that everything is going absolutely wonderful with both Junie and Rory (an earlier adoption). Thank you for all your work in this area, and thank you for our "kids" !!!

Doing great as are the boys. We hike a couple times a week and they get to run and swim. Matt and Jody were by, just before moving to Austin TX. to see them again. I sent some pics to Matt, just after that, so I think we're up to date.
I've been trying to get back to Centennial on Tues evenings, but haven't made it. I did check out the web site to see what Thunder looked like, so I'd know who I was looking for. He's awesome. I've never seen a white mal. Even if that doesn't occur and there's some mix involved, he's beautiful. I have both kennels usable now, with some roof and deck repairs still needed. They are functional. I was thinking he might be able to spend some time here and do some hikes. Just not sure about 3 and the male mix. His bio says he cool. I do a mix of on and off leash and always on leash in the neighborhood. Three is tough. Sometimes I have a hiking buddy, but not always, so I can't count on an extra hand. If I know in advance a friend is available, maybe we can do a test hike.
While Taku is very affectionate and clingy, Jordan comes over after every hike/swim outing and puts his head in my lap. It's probably something else, but it sure seems like "Thanks for getting me out of Centennial. I got to run and play and can snooze now."
The boys spar a bit and tease a lot, but no trouble. Neither ever get mad, just a bit rough on old dad when I get swatted.
Take care!

The boys, Taku and Jordan are running me ragged. Both doing fine and getting along quite well. We still have the occasional testosterone thing, but they sleep feet apart and are even fine over food. I don't put them in the same kennel during the day, as one day their rough housing needed to be stopped. Taku is less of a pest as he's had his face and more rubbed in the dirt a few times. Jordan never initiates it, but eventually stops the pestering.
I suspect over Christmas I'll be able to see how they are for longer periods.
Jordan's got Taku howling up a storm which I like. Sounds cool!
Jordan likes the Discovery channel. Caribou, bear and wolf shows are his favorite.
Now I need a huge screen, so I can watch too.

Everything is great with the dogs; Juneau has discovered the joys of a "stuffed Kong" and a couple of little biscuits broken into pieces and pushed into the Kong lasts her for hours. I'm going to have to get Rory a new pad for his doghouse, though - she apparently loves chewing up foam, so I'll get something stuffed with cedar chips like the one (unchewed) in her doghouse. She's a wonderful little character :-)
I've attached a photo of her in the backyard. I couldn't get the two of them to pose together, unfortunately...

Eight weeks ago, my wife and I adopted a gorgeous mal named Juneau. We feel that we got the pick of the litter. He's been wonderful. We were relatively new to the breed and knew right away that we made the right choice with Juneau. He loves to run and take hikes with me in the evenings. Juneau's been lucky that there are four other mals who live near us and once a week the five of the boys play in this huge field. We have a neat community of malamute owners in Snoqualmie. We learn something new about Juneau everyday. I also wanted to mention that my wife and I were completely satisfied with the process of adopting Juneau. Cindy was wonderful taking lots of time with my questions and giving advice. Juneau's foster parents were also great. Juneau was in a perfect environment with 26 playmates, which was relaxed and comfortable. Thank you Cindy, Heidi, Kathy, and WAMAL for our new companion.
