Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
Malakhi is a neutered male returned to the shelter because his family is moving. His relinquishing family describes him as friendly, playful, active with a huge personality. He has lived in a family with children under the age of 6 and older children from 6-12. Very tolerant of children and reacts to other dogs as friendly and playful. He has lived as an indoor/outdoor dog and has been left both inside and outside alone during the day. He was left alone for as many as 10-12 hours a day. He loves to ride in the car, is not food aggressive, has never bitten a person or injured another animal. Our volunteer spent a little time with him in a visiting area and he seemed very friendly although somewhat aloof - until he saw a family with small children walking by outside the kenneled area! Then he got excited, woo wooing at the kids and wanting to join them. He has had no training at all and doesn't even seem to know your basic sit or come commands. Malahki is currently being fostered in Tacoma, WA |
