Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
Forrest is an adorable young partially malamute puppy. He is ALL energy and playfulness and desire to please. He was brought up in the country around horses and other animals and may even be trainable with cats but has never lived with them. And beware - Forrest wants to play with everything and everyone. When you call him, he comes running not because he is obedient but so that you can love on him! He is bossed around by everyone and does not seem to mind it much - but would really rather play! His coat is gorgeous and feels like silk. He is sturdy and compact and will not grow much more but is perfectly capable of scaling a 4 foot fence - although when he has done so, he did not take off for the hinterlands. We were told by Animal Control that Forrest barked a lot. Likely he did bark when there since it was the first time he had ever been confined or away from home. Here in his foster home, he is not a barker, or much of a digger. He sleeps, spends late evenings and feeding times in his kennel and settles right in several times a day without a peep. He barks only the normal times you would expect a puppy to bark - when he is trying to tell you he is hungry or he is wondering why everyone else is out in the yard and he is left in the kennel. I would bark too. Forrest IS a puppy and turns anything into a toy. Then he gathers his toys and blankets in one spot and sleeps on them. He is playful, athletic, will do very well in school and will be a fabulous companion for play, family or an athletic person who wants an outdoor - summer and SNOW companion! This little boy is as sweet as a donut. Forrest is currently being fostered in Cle Elum, WA. |
