Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
The shelter called him Gus, we called him Whatcom, and his rescue volunteers realized that he doesn't know his name so renamed him Teton, a more appropriate Malamute name, we think. Teton comes to us with a completely unknown past. He was a dog at large, found at a park. The shelter said they had him separated from other dogs because he rough plays. Honestly, we have NO idea where they got that from. He is the sweetest dog. Very playful, lovable, enjoys giving many kisses, well behaved in the truck all the way to Maple Valley where he is now kenneled. He already knows how to sit somewhat. Teton is very young and acts very puppy-like. Jumped only a little bit when he first got out of the kennel. He came into the shelter weighing 30 lbs. and now he weighs 40+ lbs a few weeks later. Could definitely put some weight on. All of us in rescue are already in love and find it hard to resist his precious face. Teton is currently kenneled in Maple Valley, WA. |
