Nakita is a big beautiful girl who was found as a stray. Although she had tags and her owners were contacted many times, they never came to take her home. She looks to be a fairly young adult and appears to be in good health. She has a softer coat than most Mals so will probably need a little extra brushing from her new owners. Nakita was described by the shelter as a very sweet and quiet girl. When she was picked up by a WAMAL volunteer she immediately jumped in the back of the Explorer and after a quick sniff around the back laid right down. Within 15 minutes she was fast asleep in a ball of blankets she had made herself. We will have a better idea of her personality in the next week or so, but so far she seems to be a laid back, mellow, happy, friendly girl.

Nakita appears to be potty trained and used to being in a house. Nakita has shown to be a mellow, extremely sweet girl and is reported to be great with her foster moms two children.

Here is an update from Nakita's foster family:
Nakita is an amazing dog. She has got to be one of the most well mannered and loving dogs I have ever seen, of any breed. She even seems to be ok with my cats! She loves my kids, and gets excited when my daughter comes home from school to play. She has not challenged my fence once. She is just that good. She has only dug a little bit, and I think it was because she was bored. She really should be brushed 2-3 times a week, but it is totally worth it when you feel and smell her soft, silky coat. And she LOVES her belly rubbed. She also gives my husband doggie hugs. And kisses everybody. I love having her here, and I know it will be really hard to let her go because she is so awesome, but she will make someone or some family a completely loving and blissfully happy pet.

Nakita is presently being fostered in Maple Valley, WA.
