Strider was recently found as a stray in Olympia and has been pulled from the kill shelter and is now in rescue. We have just taken him into rescue so do not know much about him yet, but we do know that he is a very sweet boy with a beautiful coat, loves to cuddle, appears to know a few basic commands, walks well on leash, and was a love bug with his rescue worker that evaluated and pulled him from the shelter.

Update from Strider's foster Mom: Strider is a very big goofy puppy. He loves all people, especially men. He likes to play with his front paws which we are working on. He loves to play with my dogs. He has no idea that he is so big (109lbs). He looks puzzled and backs away when my 50lb. Husky growls at him. He can not understand why anyone would not like him. He is very strong, his arms are all muscle, but he walks well on the leash. He prances when we walk and loves to stop occasionally to get petted. He has a very large head and huge paws. He tries to put both paws up at the same time while sitting and looks exactly like an uncoordinated bear cub. I do not know how he is with cats but he loves children. I would just be careful about having him close to anyone too small to be pawed or leaned on by this big sweet lovable guy. He knows the commands sit, shake, stay, and down. We are working on off and heel. He does not jump on people. He shares the food bowl with other dogs. A picture can not do justice to Strider's sweet goofy personality.

Strider is being fostered in Vancouver, WA
