Makalu's family is looking for a new loving home for their boy as he is not comfortable around their small children (under 4 years old) when it comes to them touching him. He does not want them doing that and he has made that very clear, so they want to head off any possible problems before they have a chance to happen.

Makalu is very nice and playful with older children and is very friendly and out going with adults he does not know. He is smart, very loving and wants to be the center of attention - what Malamute does not! He even has a sensitive side to him: when someone is feeling sad or hurt he will place a paw or head on your lap to give comfort. He enjoys playing and expresses it very vocally - he will tell you exactly what he thinks about things! Makalu especially enjoys playing fetch, going for walks and sleeping at the foot of his owners bed every night.

Makalu has basic obedience training and knows sit, lay down, go out, shake and heel - he walks very well on leash in a halti. He is neutered. The perfect home for him would be one where he can continue to be part of an active loving family and one that does not have any other pets or small children.
