Samson and Delilah are a duo, to be adopted together. Why? Samson is blind and Delilah is his touchstone. But if you want easygoing family-dog malamutes who are grateful to be part of the family; low maintenance personalities, easy to integrate into your home, no pressure to keep them occupied, can comfortably live in your backyard while you are at work and taking the kids to their activities, no resource guarding, no take-away issues (which can be a concern with toddlers) - these two are perfect. At first they were super-scared and shy. With only a couple of visits from new people, they are bounding out of their shy-shells! And astonishingly, on walks, Samson is the confident one, once he trusts the person on the other end of the leash. Delilah was extremely defensive of him at first with other dogs but is now learning that she does not have to protect him; her human will do that and Delilah can relax and play herself. These two are impressive. Samson's ability to navigate is amazing. Delilah is just sugar-sweet with those big brown eyes and Yoda ears. Their ability to overcome natural fears is something we can all learn from. If you did not know Samson was blind, you might never be able to tell. You would probably just think he had the bestest nose in malamute-land. He moves like a bloodhound, in fact. Like the others, Samson and Delilah want SO VERY MUCH to love and be loved. Special needs here, because of Samson's blindness, but this is an extremely rewarding pair of dogs. Samson and Delilah are in Cle Elum. The Colville dogs were seized from a *husky-dog* puppy mill in the woods outside of Spokane in September. 36 dogs were seized; malamutes, siberians and mal/sibe mixes. WAMAL has the malamutes and some of the mal/sibe mixes. Other Pictures of Samson and Delilah (click to see larger version):
