Mackey, named after four time Iditarod winner Lance Mackey, looks just like his 2010 lead dogs Rev and Maple. We think hes mostly Mal and partly, well, sled dog. Not that we know if he has ever been sledding before, but you can bet he has closed his soulful brown eyes and dreamt about it many times. Mackey is full of energy and vigor and very curious. He has been playing well with his foster Mal sister and has come face to face with the resident kitty there and didn't seem too interested in her. Mackey is on the small side and has a gorgeous colored double coat and a very happy WoooWoooo. He comes when hes called but seems to be lacking any other training so far. Hes a very smart boy though, and he is ready to learn some basic commands and offer a ton of love to a lucky new family. Mackey is ready to start his new life as a hiking and snowshoeing companion. At night he wants to curl up by the fireside at your feet and dream of fame.

If you love the Iditarod sled dog look and want a companion to be your best buddy for your outdoor activities, Mackey may be your boy! Please fill out our online application and we will schedule your home visit asap.

Mackey is being lovingly cared for in Garfield, WA.
