Kehei - named after a cool beach on Maui - is one of three Mals adopted by a former WAMAL volunteer who passed away unexpectedly. So Kehei is back in rescue, looking for his new, forever home. Kehei is a VERY loving boy who enjoys belly rubs and walks and who likes being petted more than anything else in the world. More than food, more than treats, even more than play. He is a people pleaser and will work hard to be what you want, so that you will feel free to love him - and love on him. But the boy is playful, too! He and his canine buds can amuse themselves all day, race around, play tug of war and then play Dead Dog Rug in the afternoon sun. When Kehei comes in the house, he checks things out and then looks to see what the rules are - he is SO sweet. Kehei is housebroken and knows basic commands and loves to go on walks. He will check out the world around him and then return to your side, look up with those big brown eyes while he rubs his big ol head on your hip. Such a sweetie. Kehei wants to get along with other dogs - he is a lover, not a fighter. And he is sometimes afraid; he will bark at strangers and although trained to know that crate or kennel are safe homes and where he gets fed, he can be fearful in them when strangers are around. But when he feels safe and loved - he is one of the most affectionate malamutes ever! And he is a stunner - this boy is jaw dropping gorgeous. When he isn't being a goof. Kehei is being fostered in Cle Elum, WA. |
