Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
Yukon and his brother Bandit are in need of a new home after the sudden death of a dear family member. Yukon is a bit older than his brother at 5 yrs old and is more settled in his adult age. He is very friendly but not in a puppyish way and will lean in for petting. Yukon has been an outside only dog so will need to learn potty training. He knows his basic commands of sit come and heel and can learn easily. He enjoys car rides and walks well on leash or on a trail. He has also lived in a yard with a 4ft fence and has not gone over the fence but as smart as mals are he figured out how to dig under. His owners put a deterrent under the fence and he has not challenged it he is a smart mal! Like his brother Yukon has never lived without a doggy companion so a home with another dog may be a good thing. Yukon is much more relaxed than his younger brother and would probably enjoy fast-paced walks. He is a talker friendly and has been around young children without problems. He also interacts well with other dogs and does not seem to mind the playful puppy ways of his brother. Yukon has never been around cats so is untested in this area. Yukon is slightly less active than his younger brother and would do well in a calm loving setting where he could get regular exercise and attention and of course he will need tummy rubs! Yukon is being cared for in Orting WA Yukon must be adopted with his companion, Bandit (adopted).
