Blaze is an older girl who had a very hard start in life. She was severely neglected before coming into rescue years ago and has found it difficult to learn to trust humans. She was adopted by a new family but now that family has to move and can not take her with them due to allergies of family members they will be living with. Blaze is a sweet girl once you get to know her but is very timid around new people. She seems to be more comfortable around men. She has been around an older basset hound and does fine with him and is said to do okay around other dogs. Blaze is leery of children and will avoid them by leaving the room. She has never been exposed to cats or other small animals so her prey drive is unknown. Blaze enjoys being in the house and is house-trained but has started to have some accidents in the house. She also enjoys lying outside in the cool dirt!

Blaze desperately needs someone who has experience with shy dogs and has the patience to allow her to come out of her shell. Can you give Blaze a safe and quiet home to live out her golden years?
