Are you in search of a motivated exercise partner? If so this happy fun spirited boy is the one for you. Furi was rescued by three dog lovers after observing him living his life chained without shelter and little food. Free at last his rescue team named him FURI which in Japanese means FREE! Furi was underweight and his coat severely matted from neglect. Spirit still intact you would never know that this amazing creature suffered so much. Furi was fortunate to spend six weeks in a foster home with a devoted and loving foster mom. While in foster Furi gained 20 lbs and he learned come sit lay down back-up wait and stay (for a minute). He walks great with the Halti Head Collar. Furi is food motivated and aims to please. His coat is gorgeous due to the countless hours of grooming which he reluctantly agreed to but soon learned to accept as part of his daily routine. Furi was also able to enjoy daily walks and many long hikes in the mountains.

From his rescue team: Furi's new family must possess a Pack Leader attitude and live an active lifestyle. Furi will need a devoted family that can provide him with the love and attention he deserves. Furi gets along with other dogs but would be just fine as an only dog. Furi is unaware of his 90 lb frame so will do best in a home with no small pets. Due to his size we recommend a family who has dog savvy kids 12 or older. We encourage his new family to continue with training so he can reach his potential.
