Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
Lily is a gorgeous young gal in need of a new home due to a down-sizing in her current home. Lily is a strong independent girl and is very much what we would call an Alpha female. She has a history of not getting along with other dogs. However during a recent assessment she was introduced slowly to a very easy going male malamute and was able to walk and sit beside him. If she were to go to a home with another dog that dog would have to be very submissive and the new family would have to be sure to enforce good dog rules and behavior. Lily loves her people and enjoys hanging out with them. She is house-trained and is said to be very loyal and obedient when she bonds with her family. She walks well on the leash and rides good in the car. She does know her basic commands of sit stay come and shake. Lily can be very protective around her food and will guard it closely. She tends to be aloof around people she does not know and generally standoffish to other dogs. Small children make her nervous and she has a very intact prey drive so no small animals. Older children may be okay with Lily. She is very affectionate and will lean in for pets and loves. Lily has many typical malamute traits and a home that has experience and understands the quirks of an alpha female malamute would be best for her! Lily is being lovingly fostered in Burien WA |
