Hi! I am Pete and I wandered in to some nice peoples yard in Portland and was finally rescued! I was very scared at first and was shutting down in the kennel and my health was suffering. But I was in luck as my foster dad drove all the way from Washington to pick me up and take me home. I did go to a new home but the resident male dog was too aggressive for my shy ways. In my other home I learned a lot and am proud to say that in time I came to trust and had become content to come in the house and be relaxed. Now I am comfortable with being petted and getting belly rubs. I like my chew toys as well as chewing up rubber balls and rawhide chews as a treat and I even like to play fetch. I will talk to you to let you know when I want in or out. I am a high energy guy that loves to run around the yard at full speed and go for walks. When I meet other dogs I often play bow and I do well with other dogs in the yard and on outings. I would really love to live with another dog that I can play with. I also do very well heeling on gentle leader leash! A new home for Pete will need a fenced space for play and running. Also a patient low key master that will allow him to build trust which may take some time. A home that has experience with shy dogs is highly recommended for Pete. Pete is being lovingly fostered in Washington while he waits for his new home. |
