Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
Miss Koda's stunning baby blue eyes give away her part Siberian Husky heritage but her size and features are all Malamute like oversized paws and a big strong body. She is a great combo delivering double the sweetness of love and a lot of kisses. As a two-year-old there is still much she would like to learn and looks forward to finding her forever family. Koda was found as a stray with an outdated chip so we do not know her full history. She has an extremely high prey drive and is clever so she will find ways to go after cats and creatures so she will need an environment that is cat-free. She also needs to be part of a one-dog family as she did not receive the socialization training she would have liked as a young pup. Koda is very treat motivated and the crinkle of a bag filled with yummy treats will lead her to sit shake and lay down. Koda would also be interested in learning better leash skills. She is a strong puller but with a Wonder Walker harness and/or gentle leader and guidance from her new humans she is willing to work on it. Koda is looking for an active family who has time and interest in outdoor exercise and training. Given she loves people she would likely do okay with kids older than 10 years. A family ready to work with a clever beautiful young 2-year-old will be rewarded with much love and sibermal kisses. Koda is being lovingly cared for in Washington while she awaits her forever home. |
