Meet Dexter! He is a gorgeous malamute/husky mix that was turned into the shelter after escaping his yard one too many times. Dexter has proven himself to be quite the escape artist and will need a securely fenced yard to keep him safe and contained. He gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine buddy his own size to play with. Dexter knows his commands of sit lay down and is house trained. Although Dexter gets along well with dogs his size he has a healthy prey drive so no small dogs cats or chickens for this guy! Dexter walks well on leash with just a little bit of pulling and would make a great running and hiking partner. He rides well in the car and would love to keep you company on your daily outings rather than be home by himself. He loves playing with his tennis balls and rope toys and will carry them around in his mouth and then like most malamutes and huskies will tear them to shreds. Dexter is very friendly with everyone he meets and would make a wonderful addition to an active family! Dexter is being lovingly cared for in Washington while he awaits his new forever home.
