Learn more about the Alaskan Malamute.
ROCKY, a 4.5 year old male, has had a rough beginning and is ready for a fresh start! He arrived in a California shelter as a stray where a kind person rescued him. Unfortunately, he did not do well with the resident dogs in his previous home and needs to find his right furever home as the only pup. Rocky is currently in a foster home and is making great progress with learning how to be a wonderful companion. Rocky was recently diagnosed with low thyroid function and went on meds and an exercise regime. He is now at a healthy normal weight and his thyroid levels are close to normal. He is much more energetic, playful and goofy! He loves going on adventures to the mountains or the river, is good in the car and on leash. Rocky will need patience and a committed adopter who will continue his well-established training regime. He will reward all your efforts with a lot of love and cuddles and will enjoy leaning in for pets or a snooze in a recliner! Approved adopters are encouraged to communicate directly with the foster to learn more.
